Awwww, it's not so cute.

There is a peer of mine that has a habit, which is annoying the living hell out of me. In the middle of a conversation, she will start talking like sheís a 4-year-old girl. She even has some of the same mannerisms, the shaking of the head and the giddy clapping. She doesnít do it during the meetings, but when Iím talking to her one on one she will throw out every couple of sentences this way. People, itís like fingernails on a chalkboard. Iíve never met another grown adult that does this. Well, except when they are imitating something their kid or grandchild said.

Folks, I canít begin to explain how this grates on my nerves. Every time she does it, I want to reach out and slap the snot out of her. During the day, I tend to avoid her so I donít have to listen to her. If there is an issue and I do have to speak with her, then I try to do it as quickly as possible.

She really is a nice person. Yet during our conversations in the past she has stated that she doesnít have many friends and that people tend to not like her. Iím pretty sure Iíve identified why. I havenít said anything to her about it, mainly because I really donít think it would be appropriate for me to do so. On the other hand, it might piss her off enough that she stops and my brain wonít scream at me every time she does it.

Farking sensitivity class is working.
