He's damn lucky.
People, as you all know I like firearms. As part of owning a firearm, I have a lot of respect for them. You can’t mistreat or misuse a firearm. If you do, it could end up with disastrous consequences. That applies to all Firearms. Even ones that people “know” are unloaded or safe. I’ve seen first hand and heard about second hand too many cases of people messing around with one and hurting themselves. Like the idiot in this video:
Guy Shoots Himself In The Head With Flare Gun - video powered by Metacafe
Sure it was only a flare gun, but it’s still dangerous and he’s lucky that he’s okay. The sad thing is that I’ve seen people pull the same stunt with real handguns. When I was in college there was a guy that put a revolver to his had and was going to pretend to blow his brains out. After a quick yelling and the guns owner disarming the idiot he advised him that the revolver was indeed loaded. That idiot pulled it out of a nightstand in the guy’s room.
I like how they;'re shooting a FLAREGUN on a BOAT with a CONTAINER OF GASOLINE on the roof.
Posted by: og at February 17, 2007 11:09 AMWhen I was young, my dad owned about 4 or 5 guns. One was his police gun from when he was a cop just after WW2. He used that frequently because he was a member of a gun club. Then he had 3 hand guns that were souvenirs from WW2 - German guns although I don't know what kind anymore. He kept the German guns in a special case - and I believe he used them every once in a while.
One day he had some friends over and was showing them the German guns. I walked up to the door of the room they were in, just as one of the guys picked up a gun and was goofing about with it - he swung it around, aiming at everyone, grinning like a maniac. My dad jumped up and immediately told him to "Stop now and give me the gun". He didn't grab the guy's arm and didn't yell loud in case he startled the moron. The man shrugged and handed the gun to my dad who checked the chamber... there was a live bullet in there that he didn't know was there.
That's the last time I ever saw him display those guns to any of his friends. It scared the bejesus out of him that someone would be so stupid. I was about 9 years old and it's a lesson I've never forgotten... any gun should be considered to be loaded - even if you "know" it's not.

Posted by: Richmond at February 17, 2007 02:38 PMIt's a shame the stupid bastard didn't blow a hole through his head. That's a gene pool that needs to dry up.
