Starting the season early.

It’s January fourth, the temps outside are in the 20’s and I’m doing something I’ve never done before this weekend. I’m re-enacting in January. That’s right; I’m starting my season four months early. After getting voted into the ONW Company I decided that I’m going to actually participate in their winter camps. I’ve been invited in the past, but never felt right in attending because I wasn’t a member.

Right now I’m getting ready to head out. I’m pretty excited as I have a very bad case of the Rendeflu (The illness re-enactors get when they are long away from a re-enactment or Rendezvous). Which is pretty funny since it’s been only two months since the Ball and two and a half months from my last re-enactment. Normally the Rendeflu doesn’t hit me until February, usually right after the Super Bowl.

Now Ktreva and the boys aren’t joining me for various reasons. Ktreva’s biggest reasoning is that, “It’s cold and you’re insane for wanting to camp in this weather!” I on the other hand figure I’ll spend most of the time in the cabin, only leaving to use the out house. It’s the only time when you look forward to being the second person having to use it so the seat is warmed.

I’ll be back on Sunday! Don’t have too much fun.

I'll see ya this afternoon. Unfortunately, I have to attend the dreaded 4 letter word, work, until about noon. Then a trip past the home to grab gear and beer, and on my way. Can't wait.
