The weekend is over.

I didn't really do anything this weekend. After being gone so long, I decided to just stay home and hang out with the family. Actually I was just trying to get some resemblance of normalcy. I know the next couple of weeks are going to be really hectic and I'm not sure how things are going to go. Right now I'm planning on spending a lot of time in the office to try to get everything caught up.

I'm bound and determined to get this job wrapped up as quickly as possible.

I know this project is probably going to last until the end of the year, but a lot of it should be able to be handled out of my office. Once I get to that point I think I can start doing my job out of the Rockford office again. Right now it looks like I might be returning to Rockford sometime between the 9th and 15th, but I'll probably be heading back down to Oklahoma sometime around Labor Day.

What you will probably find is that Ktreva and the boys will find their routine for while you are out of town and when you get back home on the weekends, you may feel a little bit like and odd man out and that your don't quite fit in for a little bit.

When I was working on my first major project out of college, the Superintendent on site lived in Iowa and drove the 4 hours to the Illinois site every week. His wife and boys developed their routine and when the project was over, they had to re-adjust when the project was and he was back home every night.

I have no doubt you will all handle it well, even though it still sucks.

Its not that bad. I've been doing the same thing for about 4 years now. I know that I don't have any littleones at home anymore, but I am gone for sometimes up to 3 weeks. Just keep smileing and call home evrey night and talk to the wife and kids. Or since your a tech nerd vist with them on the web cam. Before you know it you'll be back home and things will return to normal. Well as normal as your home can be.

Yea, after being gone, when I returned home, I kind of felt like a stranger in my own home. Mainly because I wasn't sure what was going on and I was only going to be there for a short period of time.
