It made sense when I said it.

Have you ever had the problem with finding the past tense of a word or phrase? If so, you’ll understand this post, if not… owell the English language sometimes escapes me. Especially if I’m drinking.

The other day I was talking to Ktreva when I explained to her a story about some escapades I had in the past. That’s when I uttered the phrase, “We didn’t know what to do, so we just wung it.

Ktreva, “Wung it?”

Contagion, “Yea, Wung it. You know the past tense of wing it.”

Apparently from the shade of red she turned and the barking laughter she did not think that was the proper form.

What do you think?

Makes perfect sense to me, but that in itself should tell you it's wrong......

I probably would've laughed just as hard, but then again, "we just winged it" might have made me laugh just as much.

Your only mistake is in not having Ktreva drink as much if not more than you before you said it.

ROFLMAO!!! Wung it... OH LORDY. Okay thanks for the laugh - I needed it.

I've used the word "wung" before and the person I was talking with had the same reaction.

I suppose that I should have said "winged" but that just sounds off to me. I'm going to stick with "wung"

Roses, I was stone sober when I said that thank you!

and winged it just sounds silly to the rest of you... We winged it. BAH! Damn you and your proper grammer. :)

Bad grammar? That's unpossible!

Yipeee... a male equivalent of me!!! My hubby loves the weird words I make up. I am just glad he doesn't blog.

Well, the past tense of ring is rung... so the past tense of wing should be wung.
Makes pefect sense to me.

Makes sense and have said the same more than once.

based on her.... tracts of land, I say Ktreva is right. About what, I don't know, but I vote Ktreva everytime.

I'm pretty sure there's no official rules for usage of slang -- when you're making up words that already defy all grammatical rules, anything goes!
